Project Description

The EARTH-WOR-M Project rooted from the unanimous idea of the countries involved (partner countries; Iceland, Spain, Romania, & Lithuania) that there is a lack of understanding of sustainability education and opportunities available to increase competences to embed the said concept by professional teachers and staff in the educational field specifically in the ECEC (Early Childhood Education and Care).

With the heightening problem of climate change, poverty, and social unrest, people started to become more concern and becoming aware of the issues of saving the environment and the idea of sustaining earth resources for sustainable living. As these issues are not just regional or national but rather a global concern, we believe that educating the teachers about the main concepts and goals of sustainability education is a must. The complex challenges that teachers are facing all over the world are overwhelming that it endangers their capacity to perform to the fullest. Not to mention about the demand for more critical and innovative in the field of education.

This project will not just be beneficial to the educators but most of the learners in the preschools who are the direct recipient of this endeavor.

As these objectives will be carried throughout the period of this project we expect that change of mindset will take place among the teacher-participants involved. Since the target group of this projects is teachers we are foreseeing competent, active, and innovative teachers who will be working closely and sharing their practices with each other.  Carrying this project trans nationally would be of great advantage since we are all facing the same problems and trying to find solutions. And by doing so would mean healthy and encouraging practices and activities will be shared and will be useful in tackling similar issues at hand.
