The EARTHWORM 1st Transnational Meeting in Luxembourg

​The 1st transnational meeting was held in Luxembourg last September 23 to 25 this year (2017). Coordinators and school heads from the four participating countries (Iceland, Spain, Lithuania, Romania) convened and discussed the different issues regarding the two years plan of the EARTHWORM Project (One Earth, One World, the Metamorphosis of Sustainability Education in the Early Childhood Education and Care). The objective of the meeting is to discuss different issues concerning the planning and implementation of the different mobilities and programs of the project. 

 first day

On the first day of the transnational meeting (September 23, 2017), participants introduced their schools and activities that they do with their children that are relevant to the aim of the project, EARTHWORM. It was also an opportunity for everyone to get to know and be acquainted with each other. Prepared slides and powerpoint were presented to the group. The objectives of the project were also emphasized and reviewed for further information and putting the mobilities on the right track.

Project Meeting Report

 second day

The agenda of the meeting on the second day of the transnational meeting was about the planning of the EARTHWORM logo, official website, and the timeline of mobilities. Coordinators of the four countries brainstormed and came up with the idea that reflects the main goals of the project. The delegation of tasks was also reiterated and the different planning and implementation issues.

third day

The last day of the meeting was a field visit to one of the schools in the Luxembourg named Belair Primary School. There we were welcomed by the hospitable host of the school who is none other than Anna Grevink, the school principal. She showed us the school and gave us important facts about what sustainability education means to the school, children, and the community.
