Kauno r. Ilgakiemio mokykla darzelis is a small two-department institution located in the municipality of Kaunas district housing pre-school and primary sectors. There are 12 teachers (6 of them are pre-school teachers, 3 primary teachers, 1 educational therapist, 1 music teacher and 1 teacher of English) and 12 other staff members.

 

All the staff is of a permanent working status. This team of employees takes care of 57 pre-schoolers and 30 primary school pupils. It‘s an attentive, collaborative and active team of people who have worked together for a smaller or bigger number of years which helped to know one another well enough. The majority of staff are permanent residents and members of the community of the Ilgakiemis village. Parents have always played an active part in the process of education which has lately even increased and acquires new forms as there are a lot of young families or families which returned from foreign countries after having been on the immigrant status for a number of years. Together with the local library and the center of cultural events, the school plays an important role in the educational and cultural life of the community, adapting to the changing situation,  setting new aims and objectives.
